SPAY/NEUTER – NON BREEDING CONTRACTS

ERBEKEES has decided to offer more options with my contracts so I did want to explain a bit here.

The purpose of my contracts are solely for the protection of my puppies. It is far too easy to get into the wrong hands without protection in some way so this is why I ask for spay/neuter contracts and also why I ask for proof of identity.  I always encourage people to contact me if there is anything in the contracts that make them uncomfortable and many times I can and will work with clients so all are comfortable signing the agreements.

I 100% believe the puppies should be spayed/neutered by the age of 1 year only because as a breeder I know how easy it can be to not detect a heat cycle and end up with breeding. I also feel it is in the best interest of the pet to be altered for many different health reasons.

Over the past few years I am finding that many people are wanting to wait until 2+ years old to do the alters. I do feel this is misguided as that recommendation is for large breed dogs and not the keeshond BUT I also very much am aware that no matter what I think others may have different opinions. Being something as important as a pet, I feel I need to be more open to others opinions. Respectfully I now offer the Non-Breeding contract.

Non-Breeding contracts will allow you to wait to alter or not alter at all if this is your belief. Your puppies will still be sold on limited AKC registration which will not allow for registration of offspring. They are still sold as Pet Only and not as breeding dogs.
